Mindy Kaling responds to criticism over 40lbs weight loss: 'People take it so personally'

Mindy Kaling has undergone a significant metamorphosis over the previous few years after altering her lifestyle, resulting in a 40-pound weight drop.

The 44-year-old is feeling better than ever after boasting in her 2011 memoir, 'Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?' that she would be "chubby for life" - but not everyone shares her enthusiasm for her healthier lifestyle.

Mindy has received criticism for her slimmer appearance, with some admirers asking whether she used the diabetic medication Ozempic to drop weight.

Mindy has never addressed the rumor, but in a new interview with Allure, the Office star was quick to shut down weight-related talks after being asked to reply to fans who said "they've lost an ally" in her because of her decreasing figure.

"It's not super exciting for me to talk about my body and how it's analyzed," she told me. "So, I think I'm just not going to get into it because it takes over the conversation unfortunately and people take it so personally."

The actress described the attention in her bodily makeover as "flattering" in May, but said it may be overwhelming.

"I'm feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I've been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately," she said in an interview with People. "I feel great."

"I know people are very interested in my body and the changes in my body, and I think it's lovely, but it can also be overwhelming, so I don't try to tune it out too much. The truth is that I devote a lot of time and effort to maintaining my health.
